History

(The study of past events)
The beginning of a great spiritual journey

Global Expansion of Krishna Community (GEOKC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit temple organization, established in 2008 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. GEOKC established its geographic expansion and popularization only through the devotional services of Bhakti Yoga. The Minnesota branch is the first branch of GEOKC but in the near future other branches of GEOKC will be located in many other states and other countries including India.

GEOKC is a new vaishnava bhakti movement and its main goal is to build a history related to Hinduism and its beliefs and practices. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam and the Vishnu Purana (two great Hindu sacred texts) it is told that there are nine forms of bhakti. Though GEOKC describe and conduct most of the activities of bhakti yoga but specifically start and promotes the first activity of Sravana Bhakti (which means hearing of God’s virtues, glories, sports and stories connected with His divine Name and Form) direct from Srimad-Bhagavatam. GEOKC is only dedicated (as first and last deity) to our supreme lord, named Lord Krishna (join activity of Sravana Bhakti of Shri Krishna Lilas on Sunday Afternoon Satsang Activities).

GEOKC is typically a temple-related religious and educational organization, and established to offer specifically bhakti-related services and the knowledge of Hinduism to all of its audiences on all levels with a significant meaning. The branches of GEOKC are also called The International Prayer Centers of GEOKC. These prayer centers (each center includes all parts of GEOKC facilities) are full of beautiful colored images (icons) of Radha-Krishna and other unique architecture works (GEOKC Architecture History). These images are specially created for worshipping purposes, and also to focus on seeing Lord Krishna (Lord Krishna with his consort Shrimati Radharani) as Lila Avatar (divine play of Lord Krishna) to give a significant meaning of His divine play to His devotees.
